Methodology:
The information sources used to complete the OECD questionnaires during the years 2017 and 2019, use the following:
- The ENRL and ENTR questionnaires, with enrollment and admission information, use as a source: The National Center for Higher Education Statistics (Cenees) is a capture system created in Conare since 2011, through an agreement between Conare and UNIRE, which It has been used to compile information on enrollment and admission from private universities, in filling out international questionnaires such as Unesco and OECD.
- The GRAD questionnaire, with information on graduates, uses as a source: Badagra as the bases of graduates of state and private universities, carried out at the DPI of Conare annually, in collaboration with the National Council for Private Higher University Education (Conesup).
- The PERS questionnaire, with information on the human talent of the universities, uses as a source: Human talent databases, updated annually in the months of May.
- The totality of the questionnaires uses the following information: It includes information on parauniversity institutions, both public and private, in ISCED 5. Two state parauniversity institutions are identified: The University College of Cartago (CUC) and the University College of Limón (CUNLimón). And about 23 private parauniversity institutions. Information from international universities and those universities that are not part of UNIRE or Cenees are also considered, and they report information to the Ministry of Public Education which they subsequently provide to Conare.

In addition to the little collaboration of private universities for providing enrollment information. The capture system of the Cenees system, stopped being functional.
